Guilty or Not Guilty?

Another historical event is about to come to a close. The verdict of the Top Judge of the Land, Renato C. Corona, shall be announced later today, the 29th day of May, 2012. I’m sure every Filipino from all corners of the universe shall be all-eyes (and ears) on the final result, as we have all been all throughout the impeachment trial.

The future of the Philippine Judiciary System and of the entire nation, for that matter, is now in the hands of the Senator-Judges. 16 Senators are needed to convict, whereas only eight Senators are needed to acquit. The most we can do now is wait and see.

How about you? What’s your stand? Guilty or not guilty?

Laughter

Laughter is an unusual language. We share this gift with all humanity. We even share it with the angels and with God. Laughter tickles our souls and soothes our hearts. It frees emotional channels and cleanses us whenever we laugh so hard that we cry.

Laughter creates true magic when we merge with the divine intelligence that persuades the cosmos and understand that no matter how absurd life gets, we still have the capacity to laugh. Often when the angels are near, a person will hear faint giggling and joyful laughter. When this happens to you, join in with a good belly laugh and feel your heart opening up. You won’t be able to explain what’s going on but it will feel great.

It isn’t easy to laugh always. Otherwise, when you laugh at almost every silly thing, people are going to think you’re nuts! But we need it in our lives. It is important.

The best thing about laughing is we never know when something is going to strike us funny. It can happen anywhere at anytime. Sometimes, the angels tickle our funny bones at a most spontaneous moment and we can’t help but give in to a good, hearty, stomach-full of laughter. It happens where you would least expect it. This is the magic of it.

I have realized that a good laugh with someone close to your heart can change everything in your life. As they say, “laughing is the closest distance between two people,” while a good laugh with someone as random as the guy standing next to you in the elevator can change everything in your day. It also comes to mind that we do have a choice to laugh or to lament. So if you stay aware of the magic of some naughty little angels around you, go on! Give in to it! Give your heart and soul to it and just… laugh!

American Idol: Racist or Sexist?

This question has been more verbalized now than ever before after the announcement of the winner in the American Idol Season 11 was shockingly Phillip Phillips, and not Jessica Sanchez. Even before the finale, I’ve been hearing buzzes and reading forecasts that Jessica will not win, for the reasons that 1. she’s more Filipino-Mexican than American, and 2. because she’s female. Though I thought, “What a big joke? There were females and multiracial contestants who won in previous seasons!” But now, I’m starting to think that there’s probably a slight truth to this.

True or not, might as well, LET GO and MOVE ON! This AI hype is gonna fade very soon anyway. While Jessica is busy being awesome, here we are busy meddling with other people’s lives. Let’s all be happy for both contestants, and wish them all the best. Besides, the real battle is in real life. Let’s just see who wins there.
